RESPONSIBLE TOURISM POLICY

The company Pé na Terra Turismo, concessionaire of the Hotel SJ Tondela, sees good sustainability practices as a natural way of being. All employees are aware of the importance of contributing to sustainable tourism development.

By assuming the principles adopted in the World Charter for Sustainable Tourism, Pé Na Terra is committed to carrying out a sustainable management of its activities, as well as complying with the requirements established in the Biosphere Hotel framework that regulate the effects generated by the tourist activity.

Our commitment

• motivate and train our employees, developing training and awareness actions on the principles of Ethical and Responsible Tourism;
• promoting good environmental practices;
• participate in external activities and inform both internally and externally about the company's environmental progress and actions;
• use local products in the daily activities of the Hotel, using local producers and local businesses;
• cooperate with local cultural, sporting and social solidarity associations and entities;
• fighting sexual exploitation, or any other form of commercial exploitation and harassment, in particular against children, adolescents, women and minorities;
• including also the commitment to adopt accessibility measures for people with disabilities (sensory, physical, intellectual and mental).

One of our main objectives is to improve sustainable management, assuming the commitments of continuous improvement in all areas of sustainability: social, economic and environmental, without losing sight of customer satisfaction. Therefore, all projects to modernize the Hotel's facilities or expand the company's activities will be subject to the criteria of sustainability and efficiency in the use of resources.

Pé na Terra's mission is to promote experiences of well-being, sharing and human enhancement, contributing to the economic and socio-cultural development of the region through the sustainable management of resources, in order to ensure environmental preservation and the promotion and dissemination of the territory.
